benny
dose any one know what would be a good replacement for the volume control pot for the philco 490
Moderator note: I have merged the two threads. To keep the Phorum organized the rule is one thread for a given radio. Thanks!
From the 490 parts list it looks like the transformer part number is:

5362 (50-60 cycle)
5363 (25-40 cycle)
5364 (50 cycle, 230V)

I found these specs in the 1933 parts catalog:

Volume control is part 5366.

I didn't find values for that in the parts catalog but Ron's labeled schematic says 500K:

thank you so much
ok thanks for the info I saved that to my pc looking at the factory service info  they have both the same part number for the 490 and the 90 with one 47 out put tube 5362. The cleaner power supply is that of the philco 90 on the top of it is stamped 4839p. The one that I still need to clean up is the one to the 490 as you can see it is a bit larger power supply and on the top of it i is stamped 5118p as you can see one is larger than the other I had asked this question a long time ago and Ron verified that there is a difference in the power supplies. But I have yet been able to find the part number
