Picked this up today.  I was surprised at how nice the cabinet is.  Solid and real heavy.  It will be next on my restored list.

Its a Stromberg-Carlson 350-R. 11 tubes and some fancy speaker snake oil.  Looks like where Bose got his idea for the Waveradio speaker baffle.  Made in 1938

Ah yes the Labyrinth, you will be impressed, not having heard a 116 I cannot say for sure if better but will sound super and give the best set a run for the money, big bucks in their day. Icon_cool

I have a 430M from 1939, note yours has handles to pull out chassis but they also allowed a tech to invert the chassis without any other supports and work freely. These are high end, not Scott but very well put together and well engineered.

There's actually been or was one of these for sale at the I76 Antique Mall about an hour from me. Sadly, the price was in the four digits! Eek!
I'm pretty sure I didn't overpay. lol I love buying radios from folks who think nobody wants them these days.
Hmmmmmmmmm,... what a beauty!
OOOOOOH,
So you grabbed that one... My friend Gary almost grabbed it but has one already..
Great find and she cleaned up real nice...

It sat out ALL DAY the previous day for a yard sale. Hard to believe nobody even made him an offer on it. Its a good thing that your average Joe Numbskull still things tube radios are worthless junk. Icon_smile

I'd grab another one if I ever see one again. They are beautiful furniture, and from what I understand it will be a very nice sounding radio once gone through.
They had some name designers for cabinets, Duncan Phyfe was one. The electronics are overbuilt. My sister found mine at the end of a driveway, cabinet was a mess.

That is one gorgeous set. Congratulations on the find.
I got it back yesterday from being electronically restored. It sounds great.
