My wife recently inherited a model 48-1262. The radio works great. The phonograph not so great.

There’d is no sound being transmitted from the phonograph to the speaker. We can hear music at the actual needle but nothing coming out of the speaker.

We are new to old radios and have no idea where to start in trouble shooting this. All wires appear to be in place. I’m not sure if this is more likely to be a wiring issue or a bad capacitor or tube.
It most likely has a dead cartridge.
+1 what Ed said. Also shouldn't be powered up before caps and all out of range resistors are replaced. Welcome to the phorum! Take care, Gary

Thanks. So I don’t even know enough to know what a cap or an “out of range” resistor is. Where is a good starting place to get some base knowledge?
Here are photos of the radio. I have cleaned the cobwebs out of it and done some dusting but it looks pretty much untouched.
