Speaker wire shorted and took the output transformer on my 16 b.i have a   12 in speaker and out put transformer from a model 16  console.would that output trans work.anyone know what the primary ohms shoud be on the 16 b output transformer-thanks for any help
What size is spkr in the 16B? 8" K spkr or the later 10" H spkr?
it is the 10 inch speaker
Good it's a better match. The 8" spkr has a pretty low vc impedance. I'd swap it.
Full speaker details can be found here in the library:

There's a link to the original complete spreadsheet there as well.
And this is why the output transformer from a 16 console will not work properly as a replacement for a 16B.

Your 16B (10 inch speaker) uses an H-13, which has a 1.25 ohm impedance voice coil. The 16 consoles use a U-2 speaker, with a 2.28 ohm voice coil.

Long story short...you can use the transformer from a U-2 as a replacement, but there will be an impedance mismatch and your radio will be quieter as a result.
that's what I needed.you guys are great.speedy recovery from your operation RON
