I was wondering about that variac staying hot but then I figured since you posted that video, nothing bad happened
One thing: I am not sure but it seems like the spray said "contact cleaner". If it is, I wouldn't use it on a pot, as at least some are known to etch the resistant off of the omega. Fader lube, like Deoxit F5 is safe and does a good job removing scratchinness from volume controls.
I forgot to turn the variac off, good thing the radio was off, haha
