Hello all, would anyone happen to know, or know where I could search, to find the exact dimensions of the Dial from a 38-2? I am in need of a replacement. The original part number on this one is 27-5358, the one at Radio Daze for a 38-3 has a different inside diameter.

I am coming up empty in my searching.

Thank You, Cheers
You might give Mark a try if you haven't already.  https://www.oldradioparts.net/
I'd call rather than using the web site. I tried it I got better results.

Hi

I too have a 38-2. You may want to check with Radio Daze to see how much it would cost to create a reproduction. As far as I can tell, the 38-1 and 38-2 both use the 27-5358 dial.

oldradioparts.net doesn't have them. They suggest using a 38-3 dial as a substitute. But they're sold out of those too.

However, I'm not sure if you could get the radio to track properly using a 38-3 dial.

My 38-2's dial narrowly escaped destruction. While I was cleaning the tubes as I disassembled the radio, some of Windex I was using made its way, as mist/droplets, onto the very dusty dial. It looked very bad with the congealed dust spots. I did manage to clean it with minimal damage using Windex and Q-Tips around all of the printing. I don't recommend that. The dial ink is water soluble.

I thought that if one had some blank dial material it would be possible the scan an original, print decals and apply them to the plastic dial. I did scan mine before attempting to clean it - just in case.
