I've got a nice 645 Philco- the cabinet is good good enough that it doesn't need refinishing beyond a little touch-up. The dial is in great condition also except that it is filthy! A test cleaning patch using water erases the dial- something I learned 40 years ago on Philco's.

Is there a safe cleaning agent for these water-erasable dials? I know I can get a replacement but they are much darker than I would like. Anyone got any "solutions"?

Icon_evil Do not ever clean a Philco radio dial!!!!! We are stuck with how it is. Take a fine loose brush and clean the dirt off-do no more-rinsining under tap water will clean it off! One experience is enough! Kenny kidd
