I just bought this radio and there was nothing inside to indicate what model it is. The cabinet looks very similar to the 16X other then the knobs and the dial plate. It’s also very similar to the Model 650X other then the ornate top that the 650X has.

It’s got 2-42 tubes, an 80, two 78’s, a 75 and one that I can’t make out, perhaps the 6A7.

The chassis says it’s a 3650, code 121, and it’s run 11.

I believe it’s the 650 but the cabinet design is throwing me off so I would really appreciate if a more knowledgeable member could confirm and let me know which schematic to use.

Except for the upper end of the columns it looks like my 650. The original grille cloth is the Philco chevron.
Thanks Rod, I’m pretty sure it a 650 as well. The schematic appears to coincide although some work has been done that doesn’t seem correct. I’ll tackle those problems after I refinish the cabinet.

The fellow I got it from had used about 200 1/2 staples on the red cloth that he put on the speaker board.  I guess he wanted it to hold up in a stiff wind!

I can’t locate anyplace to get the proper chevron grill cloth. A while ago radio daze had it on the website briefly. I sent them an email enquiring if they could get anymore but never heard back from them.
Yes, your 3650 will be close or the same to the U.S. 650. There could possibly be minor differences in the chassis design, so use the Canadian schematics if there are two versions. I can look in my library and see if there is a Canadian version if you like.

RadioDaze is going out of radio parts, with the exception of reproduction dials.
As Terry said, it is a Canadian version of the 650X - the proper model number for the Canadian model is 3650X.

I do have an electrolytic question. The 1st photo shows the two electrolytics #77 and 78. I’m assuming the green box is a common negative and the green arrow is the positive connection for the 10 mfd portion of the duo electrolytic #77.

Also in the 2nd photo someone installed this 8 mfd cap and covered it in hockey tape and slide it amongst the wiring. Any reason why he wouldn’t have uninstalled whatever electrolytic it was meant to replace.

Still new to this hobby and trying to understand how things work so I ask some very simple questions. Thanks for your patience.
You have a couple of things going on. #78 should be single unit yours is a dual with the two section tied in parallel. I would remove it rebuild it using a new a 10uf 450v cap inside. 77 the 10uf 50v connects with the - to one of the insulated tabs and the + to the outside tab next to the cardboard insulator. The 8uf 450v + side connects to the other insulated tab and - connects to the outside tab next to the cardboard insulator. I would rebuild likewise and use a 10uf for the 8uf. The can that is under the chassis I would remove.

Thanks Terry but I’m not sure if we’re looking at the same schematic. I’m using the one listed as Service Bulletin No. 220 because I was told it contained the Canadian schematic for my radio, Model 3650. I tried to copy and paste the schematic itself but it didn’t work.

On my 1st photo #78 is the top left electrolytic and it is a 8 mfd single unit. It was the one just below it that is #77 which is the dual unit. I think the + connection of the 10 mfd portion of that dual unit goes to that ground lug where the green arrow points. I was hoping to get a confirmation from someone like yourself with much more experience then I have.

I responded too quickly. 

I just assumed since I only saw a red wire and a grey wire coming from the #78 cap that they were the + and - wires. There is nothing on the outside of the canister so how does one determine that this is a duo cap?
