I have restored a 511 and am ready to align but I do not understand "minimum" signal from neutralized tubes. I have an adapter made, I understand this part. but how do I adjust to min. signal? What if my signal generator has a weaker signal on high output than another model? I have always used a VTVM as a voice coil meter, so will I tune the Rf's to the point where the signal comes in, or just reads on a low scale on the meter? would that be considered the minimum signal?
Thank you for any info'

From the book Adjsting Philco Radio's: set gen at 700kc with gen ouput low, volume full and hook up to antenna and ground connections on radio. Adjust the padders (at the front of the radio) for maximum output. You should use a plastic or fibre tool to adjust these. Next is the Neut cap adjustments: Leave the gen hooked up as before; place something over the filament pin so the tube does not light starting at the 3rd RF tube. Adjust the Neut cap for that stage for a minimum reading on the output meter. Then do the same setup on the 2nd RF tube so its filament does not light. After each stage adjustment is complete that tubes filament is lit again. The Neut caps are back by the coils towards the back of the chassis.
