is there a specail tool one uses to adjust the nuts on philco ? mine is a philco 60 has 5 adjustments on back of chassis. and a metal tool with heat shirk on the shaft  wont work  still distortes the adjustment

Steve Davis here made the tool. He sometimes sells in on eBay or directly here.
Someone else also did.
Or you could take a nylon screw with hex head of the proper side, put it into some sort of a handle and use it.
Or form a plastic ballpoint pen into the shape around the nut.
What size are the nuts? IIRC I have seen some old (40 years or so) alignment tool sets (possibly GC) that had what were essentially plastic nutdrivers.
I think klondike98 also made some, perhaps he'll see this and post a link.

Like Mike said it's basically using a nylon hex hand bolt.
