I took these for my own reference but decided to share as there aren't many pictures of this model to be found...

IT SEEMS THAT THEY ARE CUT IN HALF BUT THEY ARE NOT...RIGHT CLICK AND VIEW IMAGE.
Thanks for sharing the photos. Icon_smile

The right sides of photos being cut off is caused by the phpBB software. It does not like to see an image wider than about 800 pixels.
Nice pictures. It'll look a lot different after you recap it.

Will we get to see the recapped chassis though? Icon_wink
caps are ordered...should be here before my nerve is...LOL
Nice set.
Don't let all those caps worry you, slow but sure you will get them done. Just make certain that you wire each one in the right spot. What they call 'lead dress' is something you should watch for too. That is, the position of the wires how they are routed, and the part placement. It might not make too much difference in some areas of the chassis, but others it may.
For example, you wouldn't want to have a wire carrying AC to cross close to a part in the audio section that could be picked up and amplified. That has already been figured out on your set, but try to keep the part placement and routing close to original. This is even more important in sets with FM circuits.

Personally, since the set has the original Philco caps, I would restuff them . But that's just me Icon_smile
I was going to mention that dial lamp, but I see it is original.

Good luck with your set Icon_smile
Gary.
It lives! I followed the testing procedures in the schematic and found a dead cap! It gave wing to my heart to hear the old girl play. Complete recap forthcoming! Thanks to all for the help and encouragement!
Congratulations, sounds like you are well on your way to having a completely restored Philco. Icon_smile
Glad to hear your set is working. Curious, the dead cap you mention. Was it one of the new caps?

If the set were mine, and since I can be a glutton for punishment, I may have restuffed those original caps. Icon_eek If you didn't, I hope you saved them for future restuffing. Perhaps there will be a more rare set you will do and want original looking caps under the chassis. Just a thought.
