I picked up the 40-150 at the Kutztown show. Of course the buttons have dissolved but overall it's in good shape. As soon as I finish my Stromberg-Carlson 535M I'll dig in it. I recently did a 40-180 so I'll be somewhat familiar with the chassis. I also picked up a 49-501 "Boomerang" at a flea market yesterday. Still has it's back but there is a crack across the top. It's newer than my comfort zone (1935-1945) so I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it.

I was surprised to read in the January 1940 Consumers Unions Reports that the 40-150 was one of the "Recommended" radios in the $30-50 range, coming in 4th. Cool!

Send it to me, I'll be glad to take it off your hands. Icon_twisted

Seriously, congratulations on your acquisitions! Once you deal with the rotten rubber insulation on the wiring inside the 40-150, it's actually a very good radio. And the 49-501 has a certain "coolness" factor. Icon_thumbup
