The electronics were done this winter, including all of the Bakelite blocks (thanks to many tips from Phorum members). I've been waiting for some nice weather to finish the cabinet.
I had to replace the veneer on both sides and the top. I finished it with Mohawk toners. Medium Brown Walnut and Van Dyke Brown for the trim. The grill cloth is a repro that is somewhat close to original.

Looks great, Eric. Well done. I think that is the same grill cloth I used on my 1935 model 89B.
B-E-A-utiful job, veneer is perfectly flat and looks original. where did you get the veneer and what type is it? paper backed?

Kirk
Thanks guys.
Kirk,
The veneer is from Rockler . It is pressure sensitive. No messing with glue, etc.
I've used it before and have always had great results.
Eric

Great looking radio.
I have mine 66 to attend to (a different cabinet though).
Great looking radio Eric, well done!

VERY nice work, Eric!

Those Rockler veneers are very easy to use and yield great results.
Eric,

You did a beautiful job on the cabinet. It it plays half as well as it looks, then you have one heck of a radio.
Thanks, it sounds great hooked up to my long wire antenna. Now I just have to find a place to put it!
Very Nice, Good Job.
Great job Eric. Really sharp looking. Have to look into that type of veneer. Looks like the way to go.
Wow Eric that is beyond beautiful, simply flawless!

Ron
