Aka center tap the midpoint on transformer's winding.

No. What I was referring to was that heater center tap connection and the 6v tubes being floating which was done on on the model 84. On the 37-84 code 122 one side of the heater circuit is grounded along with one side of the 6v heater winding. I just didn't want you to connect the tap along with one of the 6v end windings. This would short half of the 6v winding out. If your transformer doesn't have a tap then you are all set. If it's wired correctly you can remove the 80 tube plug the set in turn it on and the three remaining tubes should light. Check the voltage across pins 1 and 6 should see abt 6vac.
