RE: roll call - ipwizard - 10-17-2012

I currently have 11 Philco's, 2 RCA/Victor's, an AC-Dayton, and a Sparton Equasonne.

RE: roll call - codefox1 - 10-17-2012

I think over 25 if it is just a hobby deserves some consideration. Non hobbiest friends become to be concerned after 10 or so. Donno where line is.

RE: roll call - LASJayhawk - 10-18-2012

Philcos:
80 Jr.
37-116
39-45
41-250
48-482 times 3
53-1750

RCA T60 and a 96T3
Brand Z 6S222 cube
Guild 484 (spice box)
Silvertone 132.181 (cheep Bakelite jobbie) and a early 30's silvertone console that may become firewood.

RE: roll call - codefox1 - 10-18-2012

About 12 radios 8 working, 15 complete amps, 5 work in process amps, at least a ton of iron and 500 tubes, way too many speakers and a half dumpster full of transistor stuff. Let's not talk about cameras.

RE: roll call - Ron Ramirez - 10-18-2012

Well, since we're listing other brands along with the Philcos, here's the rest of the "gang":

McMurdo Silver Masterpiece VI
Four E.H. Scotts (FM Philharmonic/Warrington cabinet, Allwave 23 tuner chassis/Tasman cabinet, RBO, SLRM)
Magnavox Regency Symphony
Super-Zenith VIII (the oldest radio I own, 1924)
Two AKs (30, 90)
Crosley "Jewelers" set in gold

Both AK sets will be leaving in the coming months. The 90 has been traded off, and once I finish cleaning up and reassembling the 30 then it, too, will be available for sale/trade.

RE: roll call - kj0002 - 10-18-2012

Okay

Here is my small little herd!!

Hallicrafters TW-1000A--(Porch Radio)
Zenith 11S-474--Completely Restored--(Living Room)
Zenith 6S-254--Restored--(Living Room)
Zenith Trans Oceanic H-500--Nice Original (Living Room)
Zenith Trans Oceanic 8G005--Completely Restored--(Living Room)
Telefunken Concertino 6--Nice condition with wrong dial glass--(Bedroom)
Hallicrafters S-214--Nice Original--(Bedroom)
1932 GE Model J-72 Tombstone--A Nice working one--(Bedroom)
Hammarlund HQ-129X Boat Anchor--with Original Speaker--(Bedroom)
1956 Norelco B5X68A German Bakelite Tabletop--Works Great--(Bedroom)
1981 Zenith Trans Oceanic R7000-2--Works Great, Slight cosmetic issues--(Bedroom)
1958 Zenith Trans Oceanic 1000--Beautiful Original with no chrome pitting. (Build date 3/24/58)--(Bedroom)

I used to have 2 Philco's a model 490 console with shortwave converter and a Model 52 cathedral. I gave the 490 to a friend of mine, and traded the Model 52 for the GE J-72. I am definitely running out of room in our townhouse and will be selling off about 5 next month.

Sincerely

Keith Jansen

RE: roll call - Arran - 10-18-2012

I must have stripped gears in my head, I forgot about the most interesting Philco in my collection, a Philco 40-780 Tropic model. I also have a chassis for a Philco 3116 floor model that a guy basically abandoned here.
Regards
Arran

RE: roll call - NostalgiaRadioTime - 10-18-2012

This is great! Thanks to everyone for taking the time to share their radio collections. I got the radio bug in about 1981, when I was given my great-grandparent's Coronado console radio that sat in the living room of their home since the 1940's. I also have my grandparent's 1942 Zenith (table model) that they bought new, plus a 1938 Silvertone console with the original guarantee tag from Sears Roebuck that was hanging in the back of the set (it's now hanging from one of the knobs in the front for display). It has written in fountain pen the purchase date of 9/10/38 on it. My Philco collecting bug stems from collecting Bing Crosby music and memorabilia. As many of you may know, his radio series from 1946-49 was sponsored by Philco and called "Philco Radio Time". He helped make Philco's post-war years among their most successful (not to mention helping to sell a mother load of model 1201's, the most heavily advertised set on the show!) Here's a link to details about the series: http://www.stevenlewis.info/crosby/philco46.htm

RE: roll call - Steve Chambers - 10-18-2012

23. Oldest are two 511 table models. Newest is a 1942 portable.

RE: roll call - Paul Philco322 - 10-19-2012

I feel like a piker with only 6 Philco,
84
45L
38-93
42-322
42-345
42-355
About 20 others fill out the basement and get rotated uptairs, RCA's, Zenith, Strombergs, Bendix, Stewart Warner, Wells Gardner, Airline, Grundig. Silvertone, Emerson, Airking, Delco.
The key is keeping them spread out, then they never really overwhelm you by seeming to become an army of radios!

Paul

RE: roll call - TA Forbes - 10-19-2012

I am currently working on some calculus and differential equations that once solved will allow me to fit more radios in any given amount of space.

When I am finished I will again return to perfecting my death ray, which is based on 36 6A3 tubes and a high-current neon light transformer. I intend to test it on my ex-mother in law the next time she buzzes my house on her broom. If all goes well, it will replace one of my headlights on my car and will be used as the final solution for rude or careless drivers.

After that I intend to either tackle inter-dimensional travel or why peanut butter sticks to the roof of one's mouth.

RE: roll call - LedHed - 10-20-2012

All noble pursuits good sir! I wish you luck in your endeavours. Should you perfect the death ray, please PM me. My area is saturated with ancients, soccer moms with cell phones, and meatheads with a small "personal area" complex who are all in need of such a device for the good of all humankind!

38-10T
39-30T
40-145T
