Peter, a nice looking pair, and the Marshon caps are a great look! I have the same GE set, only mine has 47s in push pull instead of the 45s. As you know both of your sets were built by RCA Victor. From the birth of broadcast radio till about 1930, RCA sold radios built by GE and Westinghouse. When RCA bought the Victor Talking Machine company in late 1929, Victor was already building radios and radio / phonos. As a result of a 1930 Antitrust lawsuit, RCA became independent of GE and Westinghouse, and RCA Victor built all rados for GE and Westinghouse in addition to their own radios till about 1935. In Fact, the GE and Westinghouse stickers are quite possibly laid over the original RCA sticker. The inside of both the Westinghouse and GE sets should have a sticker that states "This set is designed to use RCA Radiotrons". The chassis and speaker are the same, only the case is different.

Yeah, Mershons are very nice looking parts, so much so one could wish they are in the front vs in the back.

Hi Peter,
Of course, I don't think that an unfaded version of this grille cloth for the GE S-22 exists. I can't take a pic of mine right now as the office is in sufficient disarray (another room packed against the shelves) but the attached picture from RadioAntiks is typical of the best examples that I have seen.
I think there should be more color in the print. Unfortunately, any of these are 94 year old survivors and hard to judge. Looking at the back side of the cloth may be of use.
This is a black and white photo from a 1931 0r 1932 Saturday Evening Post advertisement. Unfortunately, it is black and white. However, it does give an idea of the contrast level. Sorry about the cropping; this is the best I could do.
Interestingly enough, floral patterns in urns have been used in RCA sets built by GE or built for GE Here are some of the following
RCA 106 electric loudspeaker Ca 1928, built by GE
RCA 103 magnetic loudspeaker built by GE. This would be totally incorrect but if it fit and if I had the money to buy, this would be the one I would use because the colors are rather nice in my book.

Wow! This is exactly what I was looking for - the original color of the flower grill! I am very grateful to you, MrFixr55

Not even six months after the restoration of the Philco 16x radio console cabinet was completed, when I finally made this video.

Impressive speed, isn’t it?

What? I spoke to him Friday. He said he had some virus and was nursing it.
I still have two radios I have not sent him that I bought for him. Both RCAs.
Guess they are mine now....

Last night, I came across a message on some forum that he was buried on May 30th. I couldn't believe it, but this morning I called his wife, and then our mutual friend in Vinnytsia. And they confirmed the this sad news.

I do not have his wife's messengers' accounts to call, nor do I know her phone. I know her name.
He and I communicated on Skype and now on Whatsup.
I have his phone from Whatsup info. I guess, I will try to call tomorrow.
BTW, what forum was that? His forum has been dead for a few years now.

I called his wife through Peter's Messenger account.
The news of his death appeared on this old forum where the admin is slightly, or rather quite, idiotic.
