Zenith 5S319 racetrack and AK 84 question -

My set has that photo finish stripe on the right side. There are many sets being advertised without it. Does it mean production change or just a simple removal of it during the cabinet stripping and restoring? Also, has any of AK-84s come with a cabinet side switch? Thanks.

On the Zenith I think that stripe is often removed when someone has stripped the cabinet without realizing it is photo-finish.
I do not think any A.K. 84 cabinets had a factory switch on the side. Some of the later cathedrals, like the A.K. 92, had a sensitivity switch on the side. However, it was not uncommon for someone to mount a switch on the side of a radio to replace the factory on/off when it went bad.
