Model 90 alignment procedures -
Dave Slusarczyk - 07-27-2008
Afternoon,
Being I am an avid 20's guy I do not get to do too many alignments I am kinda lost at the moment.
I presently have a Model 90--single 47 output on my bench. It performs quite well with one slight problem of a shadowed local station--71 KEEL. I receive it quite well and then if you move the dial slghtly to the right I can pick it up again --not nearlyas loud. The upper band seems fine.
Is there a site that can describe the alignment procedures?? I do realise the IF is 175kc. I need a tutorial to ensure I am doing things correctly.
Thanks guys!

Align the IFs first. I can't remember, but I believe one of the 90 series versions lacks AVC. I recently used a scope. See my thread here

Not saying this true on all sets. But, it sure made me a believer on the accuracy of the IF alignment. If it lacks AVC, you can use the plate of the output tube. It's explained pretty well in the thread. You can even use a VOM for this.

Dave and Brian, the model 90s with a single 47 output or two 47s in PP both have AVC. Only the early models with the two 45s in PP do not.
