Same as a USA 37-630T except it was made for export, and made to run on 230 volts AC (different power transformer).

I take it that you found that locally (in your country) and that it did not come from a USA seller?

These EZ models are interesting for me.  Interesting the subtle differences in cabinet detail.  Im remembering the 610T
a forum member bought not too long ago that also was slightly different.
It looks like the subtle inlays weren't used on the export version(OP's example) but that's some nice veneer none the less

Hi Ron,
Thanks for the replay.
I found the radio in my country (PORTUGAL)

Hi JimZ

yes, the cabinet don't have the details. I like more the USA model.

Just to extend this - here is my 37-630EZ, found in New Zealand... I was going to fully restore it, but the longer I keep it the happier I am to not touch the cabinet or grille cloth at all... This is my favourite Philco of all time, the first Philco I ever got (years ago) and I've never even powered it up... yet.

Its nice to see other cabinet variations for this model... I wonder how many other countries this radio can be found in now? (As opposed to how many it was exported to originally)...

That cabinet sure looks nice. I dont think I would do anything with it either.

The schematic and parts list are on page 7-97 Philco of volume 7 of the Rider Manuals.

Well, original cabinet may have had photofinish, but as it stands it is quite nice. Good performers they are!.

Thanks Bob and Mike (Bob, I think thats the 630 info you've got there not the 37-630) - I have a high res copy of the schematic and clear versions of the Riders info if anyone else is looking.

Some of the info is in my Photobucket

There is a huge copy of the scan there as well that I found somewhere - its very clear and good for zooming in

Cheers

Steve

serves me right for believing the index...

Yup, seems I got mixed up. Here are the rest of the pages that follow on the 37-630, to make up for my error....

kiwi_steve, I really love that 37-630EZ cabinet! Icon_thumbup Icon_thumbup It is sort of like a USA 37-650/660/665/2650B, only with a slightly inset and inclined front panel that really sets it off. Too bad Philco did not offer that cabinet style in the USA; it might have been more popular.

Cheers Ron, its pretty awesome... I'm looking forward to getting it running again, but it won't be happening for a while due to other commitments.

I think it's the flash version of this cabinet (my 37-61), and I assume they were produced locally for DRECO (Dominion Radio and Electrical Co.) who were formed to manufacture & distribute Philco here in NZ
