Transistor....depends, in general yes you can but better with the load.
Again, was it recently gone through? It is and old piece, might need recapping etc

If you have a set of stereo headphones with a 1/4 inch plug you can use those in lieu of speakers. Or if you have headphones with the 1/8 inch plug and a 1/8 to 1/4 plug adapter, that will work also.

I'd say less than $100. It is one of the low end models in their lineup. It's from 1970...hifiengine sez 32 watts per channel, which surprises me - I expected it to be lower, more like the 175-T (18 watts per channel).

Of course, if you want to dump this at Kutztown, I promise to give it a good home.
Seriously, I have a 220-T from 1966, which is somewhat similar to the 210-T. It's a very nice receiver and I am currently using it at my desk in my home office.
