My Philco "Light Beam Indicator" solution -

After googling around for a while I found only a couple of posts/forums/etc that addressed how to replace missing or broken Light Beam Indicators. The Philco 37-61 Tombstone I have been working on had a broken Indicator disk and no Light Beam apparatus at all.
My solution was to salvage the undamaged back side of my existing indicator disk:

I was fortunate in that the unprinted lower half was intact and not brittle. I took to it with a metal ruler and a utility knife till I had the proper shape that would fit in behind the indicator disk. I then took a Dremmel cutting disk and sliced in the slot for the light to pass through.

Preliminary testing looks like it will work. I'll post a photo of the indicator when I get everything assembled and back in the cabinet. First I have to refabricate a light bracket and reflector since someone back in time somewhere gave up on fixing the indicator and spliced in a different pilot light.

You need to post that picture (post #3) in the
"Philcos all aglow gather here" thread:

On the first Philco I did, Mine was all there but was broken at the top and warped really bad.. It threw the beam off to one side.. What I did was to use a clear, thin plastic welding lens cover.. I cut it the same size as my indicator card and glued them together.. I then used some small screws to put it back on.. Again, mine was all there,.. just a little worse for wear..
