Aria radio Schematics - Radio Hound - 02-11-2017

Hi, I just found a small tabletop Aria Radio. I know that this radio name was made by several manufacturers prior to the war. It has model 543 hand written on the bottom of the cabinet but other than that no indications. I also spent 3 days looking on Nostalgia Air at all manufacturers for models 543. I found one close to the tube line up. My radio has 80, 6A7, 6K7, 6Q7G, and the last tube is missing which I suspect to be 6f6. The closest one I found was made by Stewart Warner, Its line up is 5w4G, 6a8G, 6k7, 6Q7G, 6F6G. Does anyone have any help here so I get off to the right start. This thing has such a cool wood cabinet in great shape.

By the way, my radio has what I believe to be the antenna coil on top of the chassis and not protected other than a wax coating and the wires from it run to the back of the chassis and are cut off there. Looking at the label that has the handwritten model number on it, it makes me wonder it this was not a experimental model.

It has to be posted in Other radios. This is a Philco thread.

RE: Aria radio Schematics - Radio Hound - 02-11-2017

Sorry about the question. I thought that because it was a no name it could possibly be related to Philco. I didn't mean to violate the rules. As far as pics, I haven't figured out how to upload pics here. If someone can tell me how I will for future things related to Philco. Also, I will not continue this thread because I want to honor the forum. It has been a help to me.

No worries Radio Hound, we simply moved the thread. Hope you find the schematic or at least get an ID.

Hello hound!
Here is a link to a website that has a search engine by tubes.
This is what I found under the tubes you have. A 41 seems to be popular for the 5th tube.

Here are some pics from another site. Icon_smile

Well, Oldrestorer you helped me figure it out. It was the Sentinal 148A. What threw me off was the handwritten model number on the bottom. When I saw your chart I looked for those model numbers all over the chassis and found a tiny stamp in the chassis that had 148A (barely visible). When I looked this schematic up, it was a exact match. Thanks again.

Here is a look at the radio identified as a 148A
