bakelite block question -

Working on a 38-116 code 125 and have a question concerning bakelite blk. number 46.
This is a 4989SG which is listed on the parts list as having a single .1 uf cap.
If you look on the handy reference guide that I printed out from the Philco site, it does not list a 4989SG.
Anyone know what the proper wiring would be as far as the new .1 cap.
Lugs 1 to 2 or lugs 1 to 3 ?

According to Ray Bintliff's book "Philco condensers and more", the 4989SG block contains one .09 cap connected from lug 1 to 3.

After looking farther, I see there is a 4989DG that is not listed as well.
Schematic view and the parts list only show 3 blocks instead of the 6 or 7 blks that are used in the chassis.
What's up ?

And according to "Condensers and more" the 4989 DG is two .09 condensers, first is lug 1 to 2, second is lug 1 to 3. Lug 1 goes to chassis ground.

OK, thanks for the info Doc.
I guess the others that are not shown on the schematics will have to be done using the number marked on the block.
Wish it were clearly marked on the schematics so there is no guess work involved.

Kinda figured that was the case.
Any idea why the rest of the blocks are not shown on the schematics ?
Don't want to guess on these, it is too much work to re-do these.

I took a look at the schematic and saw only one #46 cap, screen bypass for the IF amp stage. The parts list sez it's a .1mfd (probably 400v) it doesn't say dual so I'm thinking it's a single unit. Have a look at the eyelet to see if the center terminal has a wire coming up thru it.
As mention .09 hasn't been a standard value for a million years.

Yes I can see the leads coming thru the rivets, but why don't they show all of the Bakelite blocks on the schematics?

Yes there is.
Started recapping the blocks today.
So far so good. 3 down and 3 to go.

Ok The other cap in that block is #9 a .05 (a 473 in these new fangled numbers). This is what the schematic shows, parts layout sez different. Having a extra .05mf isn't going to make any difference.
