Enameled wire question. -

Good Morning All,
Question 1: Will a lack of an enamel coating on coil wire affect the coil performance?
I'm working on a model 89..open tickler coil. When I un-wound the small coil I used lacquer thinner to try to clean the rotten, melted plastic left over on the Osc. coil...removing the enamel in the process.
Question 2: Has there ever been a reported case of PTSD caused by attempting to restore a Model 89 that uses a 36 tube?
Thanks in advance.
Kelly

Yes it will. If you wind it densely and it shorts out.
And if you do not wind it the same way it was, it might affect the inductance which may or may not be important.
