42-350 tuning condenser. Never worked on this. -

This tuning condenser has 4 gangs. But 2 are single blade (I would imagine SW and FM?). I didn't mark them when I removed them, and I'm lost as to proper hook-up.
I know the tuner is #14. One tab is connected to pin 2 of #7 (the FM oscill. trans.), one is connected to pin 7 of #7, one to C-3/C-4, and one to B-4.
But for the life of me, I can't figure out which! Can someone help?

According to the schematic, the FM coils are directly across the single-section parts of the tuning capacitor and AM and SW share the other part. The bandswitch positions appear to be pushbutton AM tuning (where the switch is in the schematic), AM, SW and FM. Pushbutton tuning only uses the rows of tuning capacitors on the bottom. AM and SW use the large parts of the tuning cap and FM uses the small part.

I see it now. Would have been nice if Philco would have indicated that rather than just expecting everyone to know it.

It's pretty much common sense the smaller amount of capacitance the higher the frequency.

Philco, in its time, never expected anyone other than trained technicians to tend to their radios. This is why they never put down any details like this one.
