Capacitor Help - lbryant5879 - 01-19-2019

I'll admit, I'm brand new to this and completely ignorant.  I have a '59 Philco record player (G-1606) with the matching speaker (SA-1000).  The record player plays great.  The speaker, however, would only make an extremely loud, high pitched hum.  I removed and repacked a multicapacitor (40/20/10 @ 350WV).  The repack capacitors that I used were a little bigger mdf and voltage but everything I researched said that it would be fine.  I replaced the old with the new and whala! now I have nothing but hiss in the speaker.

I've decided to replace ALL the capacitors but they are only labeled by mfd in the schematic and parts lists.  What WV/VDC should I go with?

Generally 630v caps are the easier to get. You may find the cap across the output transformer maybe higher in voltage. If so use two caps in series @ twice the capacitance to double the voltage rating.

Sorry Terry, caps in series is half the capacitance and twice the voltage.

Yes that is true but what I said was to double the capacitance.
" If so use two caps in series @ twice the capacitance"
So the capacitance divides and the voltage doubles in series if the capacitance is equal between the two caps.
