Mystery - mrmurr2003 - 12-26-2019

So I picked up this radio with another Philco purchase and am at a complete loss as to its manufacturer or other details. Can anyone help in identifying this lil’ guy? I want to get schematics but I don’t know where to track it down because there’s no information whatsoever. My only clue is the “Hollywood “ dial.

Okay, don't know why I couldn't load pics from phone so I finally got to a desktop. Here are the photos

RE: Mystery - Radioroslyn - 12-27-2019

Methinks it's a run of the mill post war ac/dc set and not manufactured by Philco.

RE: Mystery - mrmurr2003 - 12-27-2019

Yeah, I couldn't find any markings of any kind indicating its manufacturer. Sylvania tubes, carbon resistors, wax/paper caps,. . .none of it leads me to what it is. Thanks for your response.

Can you post the tube numbers please? It is probably an EMI radio and I know I have seen its cabinet before.

When I get home from work will post the tube numbers. I am going to include this picture, not that I think it will trigger any new clues, but notice the blue wire on the electrolytic is severed and not used. . .this is why I want to identify this thing and get the schematic.

RE: Mystery - mikethedruid - 12-28-2019

From the look of things, I'd say that DuMont multi section is a replacement for the original filter condenser, The other condensers look older.

RE: Mystery - batterymaker - 12-28-2019

Gilfillan used that cabinet.

Just a guess without a tube list http://www.nostalgiaair.org/Resources/572/M0008572.htm  Page 3of3

Mrmurr's appears to have the octals.   Icon_idea

RE: Mystery - mrmurr2003 - 12-30-2019

Octals?

RE: Mystery - mrmurr2003 - 12-30-2019

Thanks much! It certainly does look like a Gilfillan 56B! My only question is the dial, but since it looks as though it had been worked on before, I wonder if it's just something non- OEM.
