Quick help -
1230AM - 02-11-2020
At the risk of a violation - In addition to my prior Low AM Volume question, (On a Philco) I have a non-Philco radio with a Numite Condenser Cat. No. AT 8450 reading cap.8 and 450v. Just to be clear, is this merely an 8mf capacitor?
Radio has a hum and this is the only cap not replaced. Its a large one and I suspect this to be the issue.
Thank you and my apologies for posting a non-Philco question.....But this hopefully is generic and will be the last non-Philco question I ask.

I would think that it's an 8mfd. An .8 would pretty small in physical size by comparison. 10mfd would be a suitable replacement as I don't know if the 8's are a common value anymore. Old school tubular 8mfd@450v would be abt 1" in dia and 2 to 3" long.
Here @ the Philco Phorum we are a non discriminatory radio phorum however we do have a special section for "other radios"

Thanks! What you describe would be it. Thanks again for the confirmation.
