ALL, Have a zenith that the Rectifier is open SE-1.. I was going to replace it anyway But what do I use?
Would a 1N4007 work? or do I need something different..

PS one other question There are a few resistors marked WW I assume that means wire wound Do they have to be wire wound?

1N4007 will work you will need to change R-20 from 22ohms to something around 50-80ohms. The 1N4007 will drop voltage around 7/10 of a volt the old SR-1 was dropping the voltage around 7 volts. Plus with todays higher mains voltage necessary to get B+ in the right spot. I do like wire wound but have used carbon when that was the only kind at hand. The carbon will have a shorter life.

Looks like we have 2 sets post! Found my notes from a Zenith model T825F chassis 8T01 year 1955. R-20 was 22ohms at 2 watts replaced with 50ohms at 5 watts. Did not have any 1N4007 at the time so used 2 1N4005 in series net effect 1amp at 1200piv.
