Black lead is common negative, blue is 4-mf + and red is 8-mf +

Be prepared to replace a lot of resistors along with the bakeolite block caps in this set. I've got two of the older version of this same set.(model 600) These sets with the regenerative detector Models 57,80,84,84B,600,37-600) are pretty critical when it come to voltages so all of the parts need to be in good shape (within 10% or so of original value) Along with replacing just about all of the resistors and caps the oscillator coil was open ( rewound it) and the IF can is intermittent ( set will go in and out of regeneration all be it's self) When it's work properly it actually plays pretty darn good. I got to get the IF can apart and have a look inside. If I'm lucky I maybe able to just wind a new feedback winding over the old coil. A lot of good sound advise here on the phorum. Hope yours is an easy fix!
