Philco 624 output transformer - Patrick - 06-13-2021

The 624 uses a single 19 tube in a push/pull configuration. The Radioremembered chart only shows the load resistance of 10K when the 19 is used in a single ended application. Would a push/pull transformer such as one for 6F6's also with 10K, work?

Yup your looking for 10K plate to plate load to match a 4ohm vc. The wattage is about 2.5wts. Your chart should say 5k per plate... It's rather unconventional to configure a 19 as a se amp and use the second triode for another application as it's designed to be use as a power output tube.

Dominion Electrohome here in Canada used the 19 in that configuration quite a bit in their higher end early 30's battery sets. I find it odd as well, but it seems to have worked ok. And knowing manufacturers in the depression era, dollars and cents came into play...
