Help Matching Wood Color -

I got a nice 40-150 and it is missing a bit of the veneer on the side. I was wondering if someone can tell me what kind of wood these were made of and if there are any suggestions how best to match the color on the side. The photo shows the good side along with a piece of raw walnut for reference. Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi Peter,
Glad you took my suggestion and came here.
I am sure you will have some answers, and will find lots of info as well. We have sections like the library and others that have tons of interesting material.
Right now it is early in the morning, but some time later I am sure some folks will chime in.

Hello Peter,
It looks like your 40-150 had been refinished at some time in the past several years, so that should make it easier to match the color.
Mohawk Medium Walnut toning lacquer should do the trick, I believe, based upon your photos. If necessary, Mohawk Medium Walnut Wiping Stain may be required on the new veneer to more closely match the color.

Yes. i think it was refinished. Internally it was refurbed for sure and the finish is a bit more Matte than i expected based on another one that i have. I am surprised that the walnut stain would do it...the color seems to have a bit more red than i would have expected in a walnut stain but i will definately give it a try.
