Anyone else have one of these little gems, Nice morning, coffee, music on the radio, sun is up and not too warm. Zenith certainly hung in there as far as longevity in producing decent tube sets, this little guy is proof.

Have the same set, belong to my late father in law. The very first AM FM set that I worked on. There were several business cards on the inside of the set with a date and the repairs.

I have one also Paul. My brother found it at a fundraiser for a cat rescue place. Strangely my grille cloth looks like it has shrunk and although it works I had planned to recap it and replace the selenium rectifier. I think I even ordered the parts for it and a couple other radios of the same vintage from Mouser..... but then we moved, so they are in a box somewhere....

Nope - with one exception I collect only pre-WWII sets. That exception is my H-500 Transoceanic. The reason why I own that model of TO is that, like me, it is a 1951 model.

I've got one of those and it was still working fine a month ago before I swapped out the radios for daily use. I have a nice plastic version as well, but I think the filter caps and Selenium went poof from the smell it made last time I used it.

I don't own one, but I have worked on them. They are great sounding and good looking set but they were built during the years when the I.F. transformers were susceptible to Silver Migration. You'll know if/when it happens.
