Philco Candohm Repair -

Hello, I have a 91 waiting it's turn. It's
candohm has a bad spot. I have seen where some people say it is not a good idea to reuse the terminals of the bad section. Just why is this?
Thanks,
Dan

Beats me Dan. I do it but I remove the wire from the candohm. It's quick and convenient and starts with infinity ohms between the terminals. Maybe some are leery of the terminal resistance to ground. Well, if the resistor wasn't open then would you leave it alone, regardless of the terminal to ground resistance? Hmmmm.

I reused a Candohm in Zenith T/O, after having removed the guts and stuffed it with new 5/10W resistors.
The resistance was OK, but it had leakage to the case.
