Philco 90 Oscillator Resistor Question - Joe - 02-10-2012

Can anyone tell me if I should replace the 5000 ohm resister that feeds the #27 osc tube with a lower value? I'm asking because on a website http://www.rickstuberadios.com/ he mentions that the rushing noise in his Philco 89 was due to the 15,000 ohm resister resistor that fed the #36 tube osc changing to a higher value.

He changed the 15K to 7.5K. I am getting a rushing noise & drop in volume in my Philco 90 similar to what was described on the website & I was wondering if I should change my 5K resistor to say 3K. Any one else have this problem or familiar with it?

My Philco 90 is the type with one #47 tube

Thanks......Joe!

Which variation of the model 90 are you working on?

Does it have 2-45's, 1-47 or 2-47's for the output?
