model 42-322 rear terminal strip - Guest - 06-13-2007
When I initially started to restore this radio there was a wire running from one of the speaker terminals to a terminal strip on the rear top chassis. That is the only thing connected to that 2-terminal strip. I have removed that wire since I have no idea what that could be for and it had no affect on operation or performance. If anyone has a 322 please let me know if you have anything connected to that terminal strip. It is not on the schematic but the strip and wire appears to be original.
thanks\Dick

That wire from the speaker output is intended to be an output meter test point used during alignment, as shown in the service bulletin. You're right, it goes "nowhere" on purpose.
A few other 1942 Philco models have this feature.
