Reading mica caps - M Desht - 06-08-2013

Am trying to determine the value of a mica capacitor on my Model 60B. Reading in the correct order, the dot colors are: Red, blank, Red, with no other colors anywhere on the capacitor. The blank dot is the color of the capacitor's plastic body and I can detect no original color residue. Would the correct reading be 2 0 00pf? Or 2 1 00? Or something else? My schematics don't show any capacitor having this value.

What model radio is this? It sounds like one of the proprietary codes. If its a Philco look on Chuck Schwark's website. There's a list of their codes.

BrendaAnnD: I believe you're right. Based on your information, I looked up part number 7007 on Bulletin 164-A and, yes, that's the capacitor. So, is the Red/Red a Philco code?

What lead me to inspect and test this capacitor was my attempt to align the dial marker on 2.5mHz while tuned to the Universal Time Coordinate radio station broadcasting at that frequency. I found that increasing this capacitance aligned the dial marker just right. The AM band is almost perfectly aligned with the dial indicator, which I consider pretty good for a seventy-nine year old set and for a radio technician who's not really a radio technician but just a radiophile.
