Block cap Doc for 8035-C - marty - 07-02-2013

Hi All;
I have the Block cap 8035-C and I cannot find it in the Block cap Documentation.. I find 8035-EU, ODG, ODU, SG, SU.. But, not --C..

Marty, see the Philco Bakelite Condenser Data sheet available on Philco Radio tech section: http://www.philcoradio.com/tech/images/bakelite.pdf

If you look down on the second page you'll see that the 8035-C was discontinued and replaced with 8035-ODG. Then you can look up the 8035-ODG values and lug placement on the first page.

Just a word of caution. I had recapped a Model 80 that had a bakelite block # that had been discontinued so I wired it like the replacement was supposed to be wired according to the datasheet. When I got no sound and started tracing the circuit to find if I had wired something incorrectly I noticed that the radio schematic indicated the bakelite block had to be wired differently than the data sheet indicated. I don't know if that was done at the factory or some subsequent repair but I'll now double check the schematic and the data sheet to be sure.
