Great tool for cutting veneer - Groundhog74 - 08-13-2013

I recently got one of those Soniccrafter tools as advertised on tv. The kit came with an attachment called the Sonicshear. Looks like a pair of scissors that fits on the tool. I was replacing some mahogany veneer on a radio cabinet and decided to try it out for that purpose. First I tried it on some old, dried out un-backed walnut veneer I had stripped off of an old Philco console. Zipped right thru it. Nice clean cut, no chipping or splitting. So I tried it out on a piece of my new, paper backed veneer. Cuts like butter. Very clean and fast even against the grain. Even used it to cut a few small patches. Worked great.

Maybe everyone else knew this already, thought i'd pass it along anyway.
