Question on Philco 6v car radio - William R Gates - 09-12-2013

Good day all, I am trying to locate information on what I believe to be an early 1950's am 6v car radio. I have located the model numbers, so I think, but have been unable to locate any schematics or manuals of this device. What is on the label inside the radion body is the following; P-5106 D-5107 C-5109 C-5110 C5111 C-5112 and then PART NO-78-0209. Browsing through this web site, these numbers appear to led to nothing even close to the radio itself. I could post a picture if that helps.

Thanks

That looks like a 1949 or 1950 Chrysler, Dodge, or Plymouth radio. I think I have a similar one around somewhere. The P-5106 etc. numbers are probably the Chrysler Corp. (Mopar) model numbers for the radio.

P prefix is Packard.

These radios were the same electrically, the differences were in the mechanical fit and the cosmetics. The model numbers you listed are the Philco model numbers, the Chrysler/Mopar numbers were 3 digit in the 800 series; P-5106=812, D-5107=813 etc. After 1950 the 'P' prefix indicates Plymouth not Packard as Packard Went to Delco radios during 1950. In the postwar models the first two digits indicate the model year, 51=1951 there were no 52 Chrysler models as the 51's were carried over into 1952 with no changes. Hope this helps you out.
