output transformer - zprovisor - 01-22-2014
Hi,
I just acquired a Philco 20 deluxe. Can anybody tell me the layout of the speaker connector. The only one I found on line is the single ended not a push pull. I am trying to find if my output transformer is defective. Also did anybody recone the speaker of this radio?

OK
Hold the plug cut side down pins toward yourself.
The rightmost top pin is one end of the field coil.
The leftmost top pin is the other end of the field coil AND CT of your transformer primary.
The bottom two pins are the ends of your primary (that go to plates).
So, measuring between the top tywo pins you will se about 3.1kOhm resistance.
measuring from the left top pin to either bottom pin you will see about 250-220 Ohm.
Measuring between the bottom pins with thus yield the sum of the above, about 460 Ohms.
If all measurements are like the above your field and the transformer are OK>
