D R Ford, as far as I know they both use the same power connection and the same audio connection, trough the same transformer. I might be wrong, but as far as interchangeable go, you could connect an MP3 player or a cellphone to the phono input of your radio and it would work. The D-10 and D-10A have the same footprint (AFAIK) and their only difference would rely in the reproducer.
I personally gave up on the one from my 47-1230 and sent it to another phorum member for his. But I am in the younger bunch who never really used 78 rpm records so I do not think I count.
