I found the photos of my Laureate. It has the 15" speaker with a small tweeter in the cone. I am pretty sure that is what the small extra chassis is for as a crossover control.

There is a built in antenna on the left side back view of the cabinet. I had some real reception issues as the 3 wires were hooked up wrong and I had to detune the reception with a random wire for a while till I got ambitious one day and finally rehooked up the 3 wires correctly. They are color coded and hard to see without a good flashlight. Its reception is much better now and plays great.

There is a nice Georgian cabinet on ebay that's been for sale for a long time at $300 in California that could be used for your set Brenda.
