Philco for 1937 (introduced January 1937)
Overview
A number of Philco models, mostly on the lower end of the price scale, received new cabinets at mid-season. Three new Automatic Tuning Philco models were also introduced; one of these (37-11X) later received a different cabinet.

Model 37-9X
A new nine-tube console with Philco's Automatic Tuning mechanism. It operated on 115 volts AC and had three tuning bands: 530-1720 kc, 2.3-7.4 mc & 7.35-22 mc.

A new console cabinet for the five-tube, battery operated Model 37-33. This cabinet style was shared by several other Spring 1937 Philco models.

Model 37-34B
This model received new Baby Grand and console cabinets at mid-season. The Baby Grand cabinet was shared with several other Philco models, and this cabinet style would continue into the 1938 season.

As mentioned above, this Baby Grand cabinet was also used in the 1938 season on three different models. The 1937 models can be distinguished from their 1938 counterparts by the smaller escutcheons used on the 1937 sets (except for the 37-89B).

Model 37-62T (Early version)
A new table model Philco, which used five tubes and operated on 115 volts AC. It received AM and the "police" band (2.3 to 2.5 mc). The front panel, as with most lower priced Philcos, was photofinish; most early version 37-62T Models have lost their photofinish by now. While some photofinish has flaked off this example, it still shows how the set should look.

Model 37-62T (Late version)
The later version of Model 37-62 was electrically identical to the earlier version, but was housed in a cabinet with different grille cutouts and a different photofinish pattern on the front panel.

Model 37-62F
The 37-62 was also available as a console. This set continued into the 1938 season as Model 38-62F.

Model 37-84B
This was the last call for Philco's four tube regenerative receiver; it would not return in 1938.

Model 37-93B
Although this set looks identical to the early version of Model 37-84B, this was an all-new, five tube Philco which operates on 115 volts AC and receives the AM band. It did not have a regenerative circuit, which the 84 did.

Model 37-610B
Two new cabinets for the five-tube Model 37-610 became available at mid-season 1937. This is the Baby Grand version which, like its predecessor, had a photofinished front panel.

A very slight revision of the earlier 37-630X cabinet, mainly along the top edges which makes this model look even more like the 37-650X.

Model 37-630MX
Model 37-640 having been discontinued, the modern "MX" cabinet now housed a six-tube 37-630 chassis.

This new "X" model cabinet for the AC/DC 37-641 was identical to the new mid-season 37-630X.

Model 37-643X & 37-665X
Both of these models received a new "X" model cabinet for spring 1937. The 643 was a battery-operated receiver; the 665 ran on AC. Both could receive AM and three shortwave bands, although the 665 featured an "ultra-shortwave" band, receiving from 25 to 42 mc.
