Overview
The 1959 Philco radio line included more clock radios than in 1958, and now had only one tube-type portable (G681). More phonographs were also added to the line, along with more transistor radios.

Model G681
A tube type portable radio, the G681 includes a ferrite rod antenna ("Scantenna") in the handle which can be rotated for best reception.
It uses four tubes plus a selenium rectifier, and can operate on AC or DC current, or on batteries.
The plastic cabinet was available in three colors. In addition to turquoise (shown), these were also made in burgundy and pink.

Models G1706, G1706S, G1707 & G1707S
