hi every body
first...thanks for allowing me to register in the philco phorum.
i just bought a philco transitone tropic model 3010-123... and being more than 70 years old radio there
is some rust and a lot of dirt.
i looked for a schematic for it but unfortunately i could not find one.
the thing is because of the 70 years old dirt i can not read some of the resistors values and almost all the paper caps. apart from the electrolytic one which original philco.
i would be very grateful if any body can help me with that and since no schematic is available i was thinking
that may be somebody have a better shaped radio and provide me with photos of the radio that might help me to know the values of the caps. and the resistors.
there is something else....i checked radiomuseum.org. and the tubes on that web site seems to be different from what i found in the radio...in my radio the tubes are 12be6,6bj6,35w4,50c1 nad the fifth is not clear
whether its 12av6 or ????? the only visible writing is 12a...
forgive my ignorance but i'm just a hobbyist...thanks again
N.B
a photo of the radio is attached which i found on radiomuseum.org

much obliged
Aras
Hello, welcome and Merry Christmas!

The 3010 is a 1950 model.

I have both brown bakelite versions of the 3010 (each version has different dial glass). These were also sold with painted ivory cabinets. Same cabinet as the USA model 51-532. In fact I had to buy a 51-532 in order to get a good cabinet for one of my 3010s, as its original cabinet was destroyed in shipping due to poor packing. But I digress...none of this helps you, sorry...

You might ask Chuck about the schematic, although he has stated that his stock of post-1947 Philco schematics is rather hit and miss.
thanks
Welcome to the Phorum!

Icon_biggrin ..thank you for your time..... i guess i have to improvise.....hopefully this will not lead to a disaster
Hi Aras, I'm not sure if it is going to be a match for your radio, but I did find the schematic and information for the 51-532 in my Bateman's schematics. I am attaching it as a JPG file for you.

Your 3010 does include a 12AV6.

If you can give me a little time, I can scan and send you the 3010-123 service info...may be a day or two before I can, though...
i don't know how to thank you guys.......i'm really grateful for your help.....
the 3010-123 uses 12be6,6bj6,45w4,50c5 and as Ron pointed out 12av6....the schematic of the model 51-530,532 and 534
are a bit different i guess......
non the less i really appreciate any  help from you guys
thanks again and God bless you..
Here you are, grundigman3000:

Please let me know when you have this so that I may remove it from the server.
Hi Ron
thanks for your time...but unfortunately the file can not be opened(i don't know why)
sorry to annoy you
It opens fine for me.

You do need a PDF reader to view the file. The most popular solution is here, free:

http://get.adobe.com/reader/

Windows 8.x and 10 have built-in PDF readers, as does the Firefox browser.

Let me know if this doesn't work for you and I'll try something different...
I got it......thank you so much.......
 much obliged
