The PHILCO Phorum

I have just started a restoration of a Philco PT-2 Transitone which has a bakelite cabinet The"Philco Transitone" decal has worn off or was stripped off. I have never applied decals on bakelite. Should I put it on after polishing the bakelite then cover with a clear coat? What should I use as a clear coat?

I did exactly that on my PT-2. Clean and polish first, apply decal, spray with clear coat. I used Valspar satin clear coat.

Thank you. That's the way I did it and it came out great. Didn't mask off, just covered the general area with a few light coats.
