Speaking of the bolts used with these speakers, here is a picture of the genuine article:

Strange that they would use rectangular slots with these, maybe so they could make adjustments.

Might be too tight of a fit to work w/o the slots. I'll know later.

Art - glad to see you finally found a cabinet! Here are a few crappy cell phone pics of the speaker and (what I presume to be the original) mounting setup on my 38-1. The chassis is held in with wooden blocks and a bolt from the bottom rear of the chassis... that's it!

Unusual mounting for a pedestal speaker, upside down. No reason why based upon cabinet design that it wouldn't be fine. Other of course removal and installation may require three hands! The slots allow for positioning the speaker up against the speaker board. A little adjustment there for slight variations in the hole position. Nice radio.

Well, it isn't really a pedestal speaker in that the mount on the back doesn't extend down below the bottom of the speaker basket. My 38-116 has the same mounting setup. It's really more of a "the speaker was a little too heavy to be supported by the sound board so we had to do this" style speaker Icon_biggrin

When this adventure started I had only a nice 38-1 chassis and speaker. I had no idea how each would be mounted in a cabinet-------if I ever found one. I appreciate all the pictures and comments all of you have shared. Thank you.
