38-12 dial lamp antenna? - Keith Park - 11-17-2015

This is weird!
Got a 38-12 on the bench, and there is a dial lamp socket wired between the antenna coil and ground,
with red and green wire about a foot long between the socket and the set, I wouldn't even be posting this
except the wire on the socket and solder connections in the set look virgin.

anyone see an antenna connection that is a dial lamp socket?

Weird, yea!

Keith

I cant imagine it does, except maybe briefly when lightening hits nearby. There was no bulb in the
socket.  I think Ill leave it on, make a screw base for an antenna and have it as a conversation piece
when I sell it.  Part of the radio's history!

Well, by the time lightning got to the little bulb, even CSI Crime Lab couldn't find it, anyone remember "Lightning Arrestors?"
