My intentions are to house a 610 in a 630 cabinet because that is what I have.
One question that I can't seem to find enough information to figure out the answer is this:
Is the speaker that was in the 630 cabinet a suitable match for the 610 chassis?
They both have three wires on them, but I can't prove the ohms are correct.
Also, I need a vernier shaft. Please see want ads

Hi Mark,
Since both sets use a 42 in the audio output so your output transformer will be good there. The only thing that may be an issue is the field coil but is probably ok. Somewhere around here there's a list of models/plate impedance/field resistance. I'm sure someone can link you up.
ps ur call is expired.

the 630 uses a K-32 speaker with a field coil DC ohms of 435
The 610 uses a S-14 with field coil DC of 1140 ohms.
I can't get the speaker file to link but my info came from it.

Interesting! Rider's says both are 1140 ohms, which make more scents.

Ron's speaker data spreadsheet is at the following link labelled speakers.zip

I know, I tried to get it back, but could get no response to my inquiries. It may not be permitted after this much time has elapsed.

Thanks for the link (I am having a little trouble deciphering it; the number on my speaker doesn't seem to appear in the spreadsheet).

This is the speaker that I have.
The field coil is 693 ohms and the output transformer primary is 272 ohms.
This is for a 6F6G.
My radio has a 42 which I believe is equivalent to a 6F6.
According to the 610 schematic I should use an 1100 ohm field coil with a 500 ohm output transformer primary.
How much difference would it make to use the speaker that I have instead? Should I put a 500 ohm choke in series with the field coil?

Ok so what will happen if you use the spkr as is is it will raise your HV a bit because it has a low dc resistance. We don't know what the inductance is which will affect it ability to filter out 60cy hum so you may have to increase the value of your second filter cap. The high B voltage probably not enough to worry about.
The dc resistance of the output transfromer doesn't mean much what does is the ac impedance. Since it is designed to match the plate impedance of the 42 tube (7000 ohms) to the philco spkrs voice coil your all set. You don't need to change it.
Sorry abt ur license. If you have a current one w/another call you may be able to get ur old call back though the vanity call sign program. If you have been expired for a good while ( I think the rule is 2 yrs) you have to take the test over again. QRZ has a service that you can sign up for (free) and they will send you an email a few months before you expire (license that is not you the person).

Thanks Terry, that makes perfect sense to me.
